Where's My Net

We finally made it back out to the lake marina where the fish are so think they climb on top of each other in an attempt to get a piece of bread. You think they would eventually get full but I guess they will eat until they pop. LOL

They are really huge and probably taste pretty good since their entire diet consists bread and popcorn.

Anyway, as promised, here are the pictures!

We've had so much rain here in North Texas lately, that the grass couldn't be mowed because the ground was so saturated. Well, it had finally dried out enough for me to get the mower through most of it. There was only one spot where I left ruts.

I also started a new blog where I'll keep my movie and restaurant ratings. Check it out.

And That's What I Think.

Good Times

June 25th was mine and Jenny's 8th wedding anniversary. My mom came up for the weekend to watch the kids for us while we went out. Thanks, Mom!

The previous week I made reservations at the Reata, a local restaurant downtown. When Jenny asked me what we were doing this year, I told her that it was going to be a surprise.

Saturday night I drove her downtown and we parked and walked to the restaurant. She still had no idea where we were headed. We were escorted to the rooftop, per my request.

They had a nice little table for two set up for us near the side with a spectacular view of downtown. We were seated just before sunset and got to watch all the downtown lights come on. We couldn't have asked for better weather on this night.

The atmosphere at the Reata was excellent and the food was great. We started off with an appetizer of BBQ quail over a bed of jalapeno and cheddar grits. For the main course Jenny ordered chicken stuffed with ham and spinach and I had shrimp enchiladas. We enjoyed three different types of bread with our meal and for dessert we shared a devils food cake drenched with drunken berries and vanilla sauce.

After dinner we walked down the block to a comedy club. When Jenny saw the headliner, though, we decided not to waste our money and instead opted for a drink at a happening club.

Time alone is few and far between, but when we have the time, there's no one else I'd rather be with! Thanks for a great night, Jenny!

And That's What I Know!

Kid Fun

Sorry I have been gone for so long. A lot has happened since I last posted. I will try to catch up over the next week or so.

This past weekend Lacye (along with Jenny and Johnnie) rode the Grapevine Vintage Railroad with her girl scout troop. After that I met them at the Ft Worth Cats baseball game. Then we headed out to try a new restaurant called 29 Degree Tavern. It sounds like a bar, but it's really a restaurant.

The next morning we got up and went to see a cool tower I used to drive past all to time and then on to see Willy Wonka. The Wonka crew were set up at a mall. It was a surprise for the kids and they really had fun.

We decided to go into the mall afterwards since we had never been there before. They had an indoor glow in the dark putt putt. I have to say it was pretty cool and I won a free game.

Before we left the mall, we decided to take the kids to see the new movie Ratatouille.

Before we could head home, it was time for some good Texas BBQ! Spring Creek never disappoints!

All in all, we had a great day together with lots of fun.
