Good Times

June 25th was mine and Jenny's 8th wedding anniversary. My mom came up for the weekend to watch the kids for us while we went out. Thanks, Mom!

The previous week I made reservations at the Reata, a local restaurant downtown. When Jenny asked me what we were doing this year, I told her that it was going to be a surprise.

Saturday night I drove her downtown and we parked and walked to the restaurant. She still had no idea where we were headed. We were escorted to the rooftop, per my request.

They had a nice little table for two set up for us near the side with a spectacular view of downtown. We were seated just before sunset and got to watch all the downtown lights come on. We couldn't have asked for better weather on this night.

The atmosphere at the Reata was excellent and the food was great. We started off with an appetizer of BBQ quail over a bed of jalapeno and cheddar grits. For the main course Jenny ordered chicken stuffed with ham and spinach and I had shrimp enchiladas. We enjoyed three different types of bread with our meal and for dessert we shared a devils food cake drenched with drunken berries and vanilla sauce.

After dinner we walked down the block to a comedy club. When Jenny saw the headliner, though, we decided not to waste our money and instead opted for a drink at a happening club.

Time alone is few and far between, but when we have the time, there's no one else I'd rather be with! Thanks for a great night, Jenny!

And That's What I Know!

How cool is that, and so romatic.
Makes me lonely for a companion...NOT, well, maybe some times. I'm glad you both had a great time. And you're welcome, I enjoy keeping the kids. So I always look forward to June 25th.
    Love you all.

Thank you babe! It was a nice night. And you're right. The food was yummy. Sorry I didn't feel like seeing Screech do stand up. I really don't like that guy. Love you!
