The Weekend
Friday night Lacye's girl scout troop had a skating party. The kids had a great time and of course all the mom's were on wheels, too. After three hours, I think everyone was worn out, because they started slipping out.
Saturday was a big day for me at work, I sold two cars! Yea, me!! I met the gang at Don Pablo's for dinner and then we just headed home so I could research the plans I had for Sunday.
Sunday we awoke to rain. We've had so much rain lately that our yard is standing water. It's awful. Needless to say, the big plans I have require a dry day, due to it's outdoor nature. We'll just have to wait a couple of weeks and try it again.
Instead we went to the movies, a chore in and of it self, because we don't have good luck sharing the movie experience with strangers. This was no exception.
Literally two minutes before the movie started, some guy holding a kid, standing near the side starts calling for his wife, loudly. When there was no answer, he yelled that she should let him know where she was. Finally she walked in with popcorn. She wasn't even in the theater. He then proceeded to loudly tell her that he had been yelling for her. Look buddy, just shut up and sit down! About three quarters of the way through the movie their baby started crying. Do you think these idiots got up to take the baby out of the theater to spare the other movie patrons? Not on your life! They just sat there and let the baby cry. I feel for the people sitting near them.
SHREK THE THIRD
Shrek, Donkey and all the gang are back in an all new adventure in Shrek The Third. Princess Fiona's father, the King, dies and Shrek is next in line for the throne, which he dreads. He finds out that there is another heir to the throne named Arthur, voiced by Justin Timberlake. Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots set off to find Arthur. Meanwhile, Prince Charming and a band of misfits invades the castle in Far, Far Away, imprisoning Fiona and her royal girlfriends. In the end, all is well and order is restored in the land of Far, Far Away.
This movie dragged on in spots for me, but there were a few times when I laughed as well. It wasn't as good as the previous two, yet it wasn't a horrible sequel, either.
We finished off the weekend with waffle bowl sundae's at Dairy Queen.
All is at peace with the world when you are eating ice cream!
And That's What I Think.
