Girl Scout Weekend

Friday Lacye's troop went to Build-A-Bear Workshop where they got to . . . . . wait for it . . . . build a bear, yep! Lacye actually built a puppy, but it's the same difference. Johnnie also built a puppy, his was a baseball player. Lacye's was a girl scout.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Build-A-Bear Workshop. You start out by picking the kind of bear or puppy you want, give it a name, then you add the stuffing to it. Then you ad the heart and give it a bath. Finally you dress it and get the birth certificate. It's a lot of fun for the kids and is all hands-on.

Saturday we just did some running around and getting things done. (i.e. mowing the lawn and making the neighbors lawn look that much worse.)

Saturday evening, at the kid's request, we gathered around the living room television, dimmed the lights, turned on the surround sound and watched a movie.

Sunday was the Girl Scout patch ceremony. They had it at a park so the girls could play and burn off energy. We also grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and made s'mores. Afterwards, there was a celebration cake and the girls worked on another patch by planting lima beans. They are learning so much as girl scouts!

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
I was all ready to not like Narnia. It even started out completely different than I was expecting. However, the story was well written and told and the special effects were extremely well done. The costumes were spectacular, as well.

Four children are shipped away to a safer place during World War II to stay with a relative of some sort. In the midst of being children, they stumble across a large wardrobe (armoire) that opens to another world known as Narnia.

It has been Winter in Narnia for the past 100 years. However the season is changing now that the humans have arrived, thus fulfilling the prophecy. It's a classic battle of good versus evil.

The Chronicles Of Narnia won an Oscar plus 11 other awards and 32 nominations.

And That's What We Did!
