Well I was forced to switch to the new blogger, as I'm sure most of you have also. So far I can't tell any difference other than I had to create a google account and have to sign in with that now.
I also want to note that February marks one year that I've been blogging, yea, me!
Next milestone ~ my 100th post. Stay tuned for that.
I've meant to blog for the past week and a half, at least. I just haven't found the time to do it.
Eating A couple of weekends ago, we ate at Rio Mambo, Tex Mex Y Mas. We had eaten there a few years ago. Although we liked it, we just never made it back over there again until now. We had forgotten just how good it was. The service was good, the prices were comparable, but the food, oh the food, excellent! We will be going back there again soon. This is my new favorite mexican place to eat. Very yummy.
Watching That same weekend we went up to Cabela's, World's Foremost Outfitter. We had ventured in there to check it out a couple of months ago and just happened to be there as they were about to feed the Bass they have in their aquarium. It was AWESOME! Little did we know what a treat we were in for. A diver gets into the aquarium with a bag to hand feed them, goldfish. That's right, they feed the Bass goldfish. They only take out a few at a time to make it a show worth watching. When we went back this past time, I took the video camera.
Crashing This past Sunday was the Daytona 500, the first Nascar race of the season. Jenny and I are in two fantasy leagues. The final lap of the race had a spectacular wreck. This is why I watch Nascar. However most of the good drivers crashed out which throws our fantasy points out the window. The good news is that Kevin Harvick beat Mark Martin out of his first Dayton victory in a photo finish. Ha, Ha, time to retire old man!
Sorry for the leave of absence. But I'm back, just not a lot going on.
We are gearing up for Nascar. The Daytona 500 runs on February 18. Just like last year, Jenny and I have joined the fantasy racing league. If you like Nascar and decide to join the fantasy league, let me know and I'll invite you to the group that we are in and we'll all compete against each other. The web sight is amped up over last year, possibly because they've moved to Sirius and left XM in the dust.
The kids are doing great. Lacye is selling cookies like crazy and Jenny is the cookie mom for her troop. Soccer is about to start. Lacye's team is called the Cotton Candies. She's excited. Johnnie is just going to school and learning and talking like crazy. He's not old enough to get into anything. What he is old enough to do, he's not interested. Next year he'll be in baseball, though!
My dad was in town last weekend and we took them to Babe's. They really liked it, as we always do. We really enjoyed their visit, it just wasn't long enough.
